Default A4 gets stuck in P sometimes

My first question is not to serious but more annoying. Sometimes when I get in my Vette and try to put it in gear it won't move out of park. I wiggle the shifter, press and depress the brake to see if it may be a sensor or something but usually I just let it sit for a minute and then it shifts. What do you all think?

Once you can get it to move out of PARK, does the shifter feel normal? Does it shift smoothly? Then does it go back into PARK smoothly? Does it shift smoothly into all other detent positions? You may have something simply binding up (or broken) in the shifter mechanism.

Default Gear shifter repair

My 2007 automatic is in the shop right now getting the gear shift replaced. Came out of Park hard and then couldn't get it back in park when I got home. Would only shift into neutral and drive.

Anyone else have problems with defective automatic shifter? Thanks

I have the same problem...Intermittent, so the dealer is clueless. I have read the shifter has to be replaced, as the solenoid switch within isn't a serviceable part....Dealer ripoff price $272...On line about $175. I am thinking about buying the part and having it installed.

My 2007 Auto is starting to do the same thing! I guess it's time to get it replaced before I get stuck somewhere.
