Slow leak in tires - Goodyear Runflats??

My '07 has a slow leak in driver side front tire that every few days I need to put air into. Can runflats be repaired? I called one shop they said I would loose performance by doing so, but was very happy to sell me a complete set of tires. These tires have about 60 to 70% tread left so I really don't want to purchase 4 new tires at this point because of a small leak.

Has anyone had these tires repaired?

I'm experiencing the same thing but in a rear tire. The dealership would have patched it if there was a hole in the tread area. Can't repair sidewall damage. They just can't find a hole in mine. So I would say you can patch them.

I have no clue where my leak is either, I just know that every few days before heading off to work I need to put air into the tire.

Good to know these can be repaired, would you happen to know if it does take away from the tires performance?

Check your valve stem. They tend to work themselves lose and just need to be tightened up a little.

I'm having a slow leak as well, but mine is coming from the valve stem connected to the tire pressure sensor. I know its from there because I had new rims put on and went out to the car the next morning and the computer said I had a flat tire. I tightened the nut on the outside of the rim and it almost completely resolved the problem. I'm still having to put air in that tire once a week or so.

since you cannot find the leak in the tire. If the problem is not in the valve stem, ask the tire shop to take the tire off of the wheel and inspect the tire where it meet the wheel, and remount the tire on the wheel. I had a similar issue once, where I was loosing air pressure but there was not a leak in the tire. I ended up having the tire removed and remounted twice. The leak then stop. The installer told me he had seen similar cases before and thought that the wheel and tire were not creating a sufficent seal at one point where the bead of the tire meets the wheel.

I also have a slow leak where I had previously plugged my tire. But as I only have 10% of the tread left, I'm just nursing it along; airing it every 3-4 days.

If the whole is on the sidewall you won't be able to have the tire fixed. Only on the tread area can a run flat be fixed. Anyway that is what I've been told
