FYI: I'm in Chicago this weekend, I'll be there from Friday night to Sunday Morning, then driving back up to Houghton. Let me know if you can take the drive.
Also, here are my two cents worth, and with no offence meant:
If Blue Collar Z does in fact have a car that can beat me, then 100 bucks says he has a drag Corvette. I know he lives downstate so those 100 dollars say that even if it is not an all out drag car with a high stall, gears, etc etc which would not even survive a several hour long highway trip without overheating, he still can not drive the car this far on drag radials. I am quite familiar with drag 'Vettes, my buddy dave has a C5 that has run a best of 9.2 @ 149 and will run 8s this year still. It gets trailered to the track and back and overheated within 30 miles the one time he drove it on the highway. The speed is impressive but the practicality is not.
So I am guessing if this is a drag car the race will never take place because it wouldn't make it this far. If he DOES have a car that is completely streetable and daily driveable like mine, chances are he has a slower car than me and will not want to race, so, again, the race wouldn't take place. If he has a car that is as streetable as mine AND faster, thent that's awesome. I'd still pay 100 bucks to see it. I know they exist, my car is not that special by any means, I just don't see them very often.
Those are my 2 cents worth.
Blue: PM me for my cell phone # if you want to line anything up near Chicago this weekend, or any time after that. I am willing to drive as far as the bridge if you want to drive up from wherever you are downstate. Again, just a friendly race, I'll put 100 bucks on the line for grins if you decide to show up. I'd prefer to do a roll on but I'll do it from a dig too as long as its not very cold out. If you don't want to bet 100 bucks that's cool too. As long as no s**talking is involved after the race is over it'll be a good time.
Cheers.
