I got a 2007 c6 coupe z 51 package that is it. I want a z06 but I am the of just adding 150 HP to this car and calling it a day. My question is this. If I add all that HP, how will the car grip the road and utilize it? The z has foot wide tires that I would imagine is for traction. What am I doin to grip the road in my machine. Any help would be great. I don't wanna waste money here.

I am adding a ECS kit soon. All the research I have done, does not necessarily say wider, it leads me to believe sticky tires. Wider tires that have no grip will do nothing. I am no expert by any means just my 2 cent. I added a set Vossen 087 (19x10 & 20X11) and went with Continental DW tires.

Does the 11 in the back stick out past the car? Also what did you gain in HP? Noticeably different?

Tire compound is more important than the extra width. A tire like Nitto 555RII in a 305 (need 18"rims) will have far more grip than any 335 normal street tire.

I run Nitto Invo 305's on mine, and they do about as good as can be expected for a street tire. There are certain shift points where they will spin (like 40 mph into 2nd, or 90 mph into 3rd), but once I became aware of them, I just try to avoid them.
If you are only talking about adding a supercharger and 150 HP, just changing to the Invo 305's (or something similarly soft) is all you will need. My original setup with SC, headers, tune, and gears only, was 550 RWHP, and spinning with the Invo 305's was never an issue.

Your invos grip better than mine. I have no problem breaking them free. I don't know how you get them to hook 500 RWHP, no less the 834 coming from your beast.
If I were going to buy another street tire, I'd try Bridgestone RE-11s.

Might be because mine is an automatic transmission. Once I get it back with the M6, we'll see if I'm singing the same tune.
