Hope everyone is having a great Friday. So I'm about to begin the process of replacing all of the audio system in my 08 with Bose and I'm wondering how the Bose are powered. Are the amps on each speaker or is there one central amp? And if one central amp where is it?
Thanks again everyone!

Are you looking for a Bose system? When mine was pulled out, the speakers did not have not amps connected to them. There is one amp. I believe the amp is located in the floor on the passenger's side. I've got the NAV system and all Bose speakers if you are interested.

Corvette did not pay Bose much money to invest into these systems. In fact I've never heard any Bose GM system that I liked. Bose in Nissan is another story. I am not a fan of Bose and think they are overrated. They hit big in the late 70s with their 901's for homes. But when you turn the volume up in the Vette the highs start to clip and the bottom's fall out. Guess this is to keep the speaker from blowing. I've had the volume all the way up and this system sounds lousy. Like so many others have said - go aftermarket. If you like music of any kind, it is money well spent.

The acoustics in all vehicles vary. The same holds true for Bose. I've taken systems out of one vehicle and installed it in another and it will not sound the same. Some better, some worst. In my opinion, most factory amplified systems are over-rated. Even though you have 10" speakers in doors, they are thin mount speakers and won't produce strong hard bottom end. Snatch the bose setup out and run aftermarket applications. DDMods has complete setups that will bring your boring system to life. :patriot:

Totally agree with all that was said here. I took a lot of the advise on this site and removed my Bose system completely and replaced with Rockford Fosgate, and kicker speakers. New Amps and a JVC head Unit. I like almost everything I bought with the exception of the JVC unit, which I think could be better. It took some time and money , but I'm happy with the results.
