My '07 has a slow leak in driver side front tire that every few days I need to put air into. Can runflats be repaired? I called one shop they said I would loose performance by doing so, but was very happy to sell me a complete set of tires. These tires have about 60 to 70% tread left so I really don't want to purchase 4 new tires at this point because of a small leak.
I'm experiencing the same thing but in a rear tire. The dealership would have patched it if there was a hole in the tread area. Can't repair sidewall damage. They just can't find a hole in mine. So I would say you can patch them.
I'm having a slow leak as well, but mine is coming from the valve stem connected to the tire pressure sensor. I know its from there because I had new rims put on and went out to the car the next morning and the computer said I had a flat tire. I tightened the nut on the outside of the rim and it almost completely resolved the problem. I'm still having to put air in that tire once a week or so.
I also have a slow leak where I had previously plugged my tire. But as I only have 10% of the tread left, I'm just nursing it along; airing it every 3-4 days.

If the whole is on the sidewall you won't be able to have the tire fixed. Only on the tread area can a run flat be fixed. Anyway that is what I've been told
I had a slow leak in one of my EMTs. Took it to a local Goodyear dealer and they plugged it and told me that the speed rating is still in effect. I have not had problem since. By the way, plugging an EMT is a little more expensive than plugging a non-EMT but it is a lot less expensive than what a new tire costs.
They had you over inflate them and then take the pressure back down, or over inflate and drive on it like that for awhile? How high did they suggest taking the pressure up to?
Wow..thanks for this thread..I've been having the same problem on my C6 since I got it..I was about ready to put new tires on it, but now I have some recourse for identifying the problem..I get the alert every week or so and I always have to put 6 - 8 lbs of air in the tire..so far, I've had to put air in all 4 tires at one point..
Check your valve caps as some have an 0 ring inside of them and if not seated properly of over tightened the 0 ring presses against the pin and could cause a slow leak. I purchased some Corvette caps recently and had a flat the next morning after putting them on. That was found to be the cause.
I've had the same thing happen to me, only thing is it took me a few days of filling the tire to realize that it was the valve cap and not a leak in the tire. Weird because it was only happening to one tire.
Mine only happened from January till March. The dealer told me it was because of the "cold weather". Didn't know we had "cold weather" in San Diego. Once the tires were heated up it stayed at 30 PSI.

That just goes to show you that there are tire shops out there employing people who have no fracking idea what they are talking about. I wouldn't even consider buying tires someplace else and then taking them there to have them mounted, much less buying tires there.
I know I wouldn't go full speed with my car due to the repaired tire. Germans reduce the speed rating to about 130mph on a repair tire, but before they wouldn't plug a tire. A wreck at that speed has a good chance of being fatal. As far as grip, it shouldn't make a difference.
My issue was the valve stem wasn't tight. Felt tight to me but the dealership found it wasn't tight enough and tightened it up and no more leak!
