Well Sv gang it keeps on pouring on me with the car dying at will. Drove the car the last two days with no problems. This AM car would crank but not start. Jump the Obd11 plug and ran the diagnostic to see what if any codes showed.
While in the diagnostic mode the air pump, ac fans, fuel pump would go on and off, and the RPM pointer would go up and down but no DTC codes came up. I had bought a Obd11 diagnostic program that worked with ones lap top so I set it up and ran the diagnostic. Well the store bought program pulled the following codes. DTC 33 map sensor w/high signal voltage, DTC 36 dist ignition system w/high resolution pulse, and DTC 48 mass air flow system failure. What do they share in common and which would/could keep the car from starting? Thks

This might sound crazy but I had the same issue with my 94. I took it to an electrical specialist shop all they found was a bad cell on the battery. I replaced and problem gone. Also you kept posting OBD11 which I think is a typo. Because the 94 is OBD 1. Also had the prob just stalling out at a light.I did clean the maf and it stopped dying.Be sure not to use anything but maf cleaner. Brake cleaner will eat the maf. And of course clean or replace the air filter. Thing in common? theres a pre start sequence in the program and if all checks ok the car starts if not you get a fail. Remember air, spark and fuel the computer looks for these things as you crank.
