I have a friend with a stock '06 GTO who talks alot of game. I was curious on what others thought on this one? I have a few mods his is stock, the GTO is heavier (??), but nearly 4 years newer.

I think I could take him but don't want to embarrass myself and have to live with his sh*t about beating me?

What you all think?

Did A little research for you. This is all information based on stock Automatics.

I think you got him. Stats show you got him 0-60, 0-100, Quarter mile, and Top speed. I guess its all up to your abilities now. No guts no glory.

2006 Gto Specs

Performance Data

Performance Acceleration (0-60 mph): 5.5 sec. Braking Distance (60-0 mph): 128.96 ft. Base Number of Cylinders: 8 Base Engine Size: 6 liters Base Engine Type: V8 Horsepower: 400 hp Max Horsepower: 5200 rpm Torque: 400 ft-lbs. Max Torque: 4000 rpm Maximum Towing Capacity: 1000 lbs. Drive Type: RWD Turning Circle: 36.1 ft.
As it was in the beginning, performance is at the heart of the Pontiac GTO. A 6.0-liter LS2 V-8 produces an impressive 400 horsepower (298 kw) and 400 lb.-ft. of torque (542 Nm). The Hydra-Matic 4L65-E four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission is standard, while a six-speed Tremec T56 manual transmission is optional. The awesome powertrain is capable of propelling the GTO form 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and 13-second quarter mile times.
TOP SPEED 160 MPH!

2002 Z06 specs (Stock)

Performance Acceleration (0-60 mph): 4.3 sec. Braking Distance (60-0 mph): 110 ft. Base Number of Cylinders: 8 Base Engine Size: 5.7 liters Base Engine Type: V8 Horsepower: 405 hp Max Horsepower: 6000 rpm Torque: 400 ft-lbs. Max Torque: 4800 rpm Drive Type: RWD Turning Circle: 42.3 ft.
TOP SPEED 189 MPH!

The Z06 is 38 pounds lighter than a standard C5 hardtop thanks to weight-saving measures such as a titanium exhaust, thinner glass, lighter wheel rims, non-EMT tires, reduced sound proofing, fixed rear radio aerial, and a lighter battery. Starting with the 2002 model year, the LS6 engine was uprated to 405 hp (302 kW) thanks to a larger volume air intake, stiffer valve springs, lighter sodium filled valves, more aggressive cam phasing and lift, revised pistons, and revised block. While Chevrolet officially claimed that the ultimate power output of the LS6 was 405 hp (302 kW), many dynamometer tests have shown that Chevrolet underrated the engine by 20 hp (15 kW), giving it an actual total of 425 hp.[1]
[edit] Performance
Factory performance figures for the 405 hp (302 kW) version of the Z06 give an acceleration time from 0-60 mph as 3.9 seconds. Owner-drivers have reportedly achieved impressive quarter-mile times of 11.7[1] seconds. This is questionable as Car and Driver recorded 1/4 mile times of 12.4 seconds for the 405 hp (302 kW) Z06 and 12.7 seconds for the 385 hp (287 kW) Z06 In their December 2002 issue. The Z06 is capable of matching or besting the 0-60 acceleration times of some of the world's premier sports cars, including the BMW Z8, Ferrari 360, and Porsche 911 Turbo (Type 996), making it one of the best performance bargains with a sticker price under $100,000 — and arguably the best performance vehicle originally sticker-priced around $50,000. Although not considered quite a supercar, primarily because production numbers are too great and top speed does not exceed 200 mph (320 km/h), the Z06 has many supercar abilities, such as a 7.33 lb/hp weight-to-power ratio as well as the performance specification marked with an asterisk in the following table:

Event Performance Supercar
Criteria
0-60 mph 3.9 sec * Under 4 sec
0-100 mph 9.2 sec
0-100-0 mph 13.56 sec[2] * Under 14 sec
1/4 Mile 11.7 sec * Under 13 sec
Skid Pad 1.03 G * Over 1 G
Top Speed 186 mph (299 km/h)
Nürburgring Nordschleife Lap Time * 7:53 * Under 8 min

I whipped a GTO on the curves in my 84.
when i get challenged, i pick the killing ground, always take a man to the twisties, you will always take him down if you drive a corvette, Thats what our cars are built for, thats where they excell,
Your car will win in 1/4 mile, but thats no fun, thats a straight line, get into the s shape bends, your **** will go hard when you see him drop out of sight in the rear veiw mirror.
A faster car with a featherweight approach can loose a race.
Keep one eye on the road and one on the rpm counter, standard 350 is running out of steam at 4400 rpm, time to shift.
You must also have a racing spirit brought to the road, slap yourself 3 times, and yell, kill, kill, kill
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Pumping heart, weak knees, heavy breathing, I love it!!!
I think you are ready now!
