What type of 4.000 crank/rods would you recommend for a L98?
I'm sure you know where I'm going with this :thumbsup3:
Ive been checkin out Summit (I get all my goodies from there) andl I see are Eagle, Scat & Howards, and others just wanted to know if anybody has a personal interest?
stroking to 383 will help with that...those are all good brands...I have all Scat Forged components and a big Howards Racing, Roller Cam in my 383/525HP...but like OZ says, it just depends on what your power goals and budget are
If you are planning a big cube SBC with stock heads heading you are thinking in the wrong direction.
Better to build a 3.750 stroke 383.
At 406+ cubes ( 4.00" stroke ) you are going to want some big heads , prob 200 cc or better if you want it to see it's potential.
And you will need larger injector and prob a better intake than a TPI so it can breath. The TPI was designed for a 305
If you read the write ups , you will see a 4" bore x 4" stroke SBC is not a recommended build because of the amount of work
and cost involved vs easier/ cheaper ways of making the same Hp
is usual have the bore larger than the stroke if you want the engine to rev; 400 SBC was 4.125 bore x 3.750 stroke
yea im lookin to use a 3.75 crank for a 383 build im just trying to find a kit off summitracing and gotta find out if my 22lb inj can handle it im gettin my PROM tuned too
if you are shooting for 400 + Horsepower, go all forged and be safe
