1986 Corvette TPI to Carb Conversion

I have just acquired a 1986 Corvette with a carbureted (chevy 350) I believe. It seems to be a wiring nightmare and I really need advice, schematics, and or wiring diagrams. The cooling fan seems to come on with the key turned to ON position. It has a fusible link. The ignition switch does not start the car. The switch must be in ON position,(fuel pump can be heard, seems to be hooked to fuel pressure regulator under hood) then flip toggle switch(PNK wire with fusible link I think), then I have to press a button to start the car. Is there a simpler way to wire this up so the switch can crank the car. I really appreciate any advice, and or help. God bless.

The wiring has been simplified ( butchered )
As everything works as it should;
all you need to do is disconnect the relevant wires ( starter and ignition ) from the aftermarket switches
and return them to the Ign switch at the base of the steering column where they originally came from

I reconnected and nothing. I will trouble shoot more on this tomorrow. Any suggestions.:wheelchair:

The cooling fan seems to come on with the key turned to ON position.
The relay for the fan has been permanently grounded so the fan runs as soon as Ign is on
The cooling fan will require installing a fan switch in the head to operate it at what ever engine temp you select
Something like this ( cheapest )

or one of these

The rocket launcher Ign switch and push to start buttons are " RICER " mods, not related to the carb swap.
All rather pointless because you have to have the Ign in the RUN position to unlock the steering anyway

Making the fan run with the key on is typical of those that don't know how to bypass the computer control of the fan correctly when doing a carb swap

A friend of mine bought an '86 vette with similar problems. To make a long story short, the fan motor hot lead was connected directly to the HEI dist feed, so that when the ignition was turned off the car would stumble for about three seconds until the fan stopped spinning. What happened was the fan motor was acting like a generator and powering the Distributor until the fan stopped spinning hence the run-on after shutdown. What a mess. :1sm258fight:
