i just bought my first vette its a 2001 it has the bose stereo system but the only problem it has is it doesnt have a cd player only a cassestte player and im shocked that they would put a cassette player in a 2001 vette. i just took it to my local stereo shop and they told me that they dont make an adapter for the bose system and that i would have to buy a cd player that is compatible with it and its going to cost around 1000! does anyone know what i can do to get a cd player in my car or could i just buy the factory cd player that came out of a vette that was used with the bose sound system. any help will be greatly appreciated

I read a replacement story and I followed that lead and replaced my front 3.5" with a nice set of Infinity's. Does the front speaker have something that regulates the highs?? I'm still not satisfied with the highs at all. I'm sure the factory crossover will be ok protecting the 3.5" from excessive bass but with 85-21,000k hertz and at sensitivity of 90 i thought I would have much better highs but it is only slightly better than the factory cones.
Any suggestions???

I just bought a 1997 C5 with only 48k miles. The original 12 disc CD changer was still in it but was jammed with a broken CD. I pulled it out and got a rebuild exchange from the local Chevy dealer. $325.00. Now comes the problem. I installed the refreshed changer. When you close the door the in dash unit shows the CD emblem like it is reading the CD's. It then goes back to the radio. I tried pushing the CD AUX button but nothing happens. I then tried pushing the CD AUX button while the changer was reading the CD's and got an err message. Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong? I got one suggestion to replace the cable going to the indash unit. All the CD's I put into the changer are comercial CD's. No home made ones. They also work in the single CD player of the indash unit. I would like any information available. I don't like taking these things to the dealership. I will return the changer and try another one by I have a feeling that is not the problem.

I am about to install three amps into the trunk area of my c6 vert and I was looking for any tips you guys have for mounting. I originally thought that i would just get some short sheet metal screws and use them to directly mount the amps through the carpet to the trunk floor. then i thought maybe i would put a piece of MDF under the carpet, screw the amps to the MDF and either bolt or screw the MDF to the trunk floor. I'm worried that if i drill too deep i'll puncture something underneath like the exhaust. i am mounting the amps right in between the wheel wells. Any pictures or advice would be great. I dont even know the lay out of the suspension, gas tanks, exhaust, or transmission that i know are all below the trunk floor.
