Hi Guys and Gals...! :givemebeer.sml:

I'm looking for recommendations on "In-Dash" Touch Screen DVD Players for my '99 C5 to replace the OEM Raido. I don't need, or want one with a NAV System, or Satellite Radio. The player must have good quality screen resolution, and an AUX Input for a Backup Camera; USB and Bluetooth would be nice too, but not essential. If you could post some pic along with recommendations, specs and what you like, or dislike about your player, it would be appreciated. The Vendor where you purchased yours would help too! Thanks and take care!

For most that know I did a lot of power adders on the vette and had wondered about the Factory 6CD "Bose" system. When I put the Z06 butterfly mufflers on it was quiet enough to hear the music while cruising and I had to do something about it. My idea was to kill the corvette tax and have a high end system. Most all the stuff is made in china anyway and im not interested in name brand. This system I installed sounds so GOOD I can hardly believe I wondered about the Bose for as long as I did.

For those that dont know the Premium 6CD Bose system is proprietary and unless you are very audio savvy its hard to make sound good. the 10" subs in the doors dont hardly even have magnets. See my comparison speaker pic of the 6x9 3way coaxials that took their place

Rundown:
BOSS Double DIN BV9555 7" touch screenTFT SDcard, USB, mp3 input, DVD CD+-whatever, back up camera, RCA video out, RCA video and audio in---it will play my iPhone mp3s and mv4 videos on the TFT screen $220 with a year warranty
for more money you can get the unit that does Bluetooth/NAV/XM/HD radio--I didnt want any of that.
speakers in peak watts
PhoenixGold R3R 60w 3" 2way door coaxials $20
QPower QP-693 500w 3way 6x9 3way coaxials $30
LegacyLS558S 180w 5.25" 2way rear B pillar coaxials $25
QPower 700w 12" sub $35----I can still use the cubbie below the sub
Wood and felt misc for sub cab $10
Metra DashKit 95-3304, Peripheral GMCO GM Chime and Data-bus Integration Interface Harness, Power Supply $140
Road Rage 4 channel 1000w amp $100
Road Rage 2 channel 800w amp $90
Misc $30
Total $700

Anyway it is a pretty typical install of the 800w amp for the sub and the 1000w amp for the front and rear speakers located behind the passenger seat screwed into 3/4" plywood. I also had replaced the 3" paper speakers in the doors earlier and I powered them with the new head unit.
Pics follow. All in all it was a pretty good install. I did have to modify the DoubleDIN DashKit as the 7" head unit needed an extra 1/8" all around.

Yep that is a roll cage in the last pic

Anyone know where I can get those metal pluckers that professionals use? I've tried going to a few different stores like Best Buy, local audio stores for it and they say they don't have it.

Albeit best buy said they can remove it for $40...I want to try doing my first audio swapping project myself.
