Battery exploding

Why would a battery explode? I was talking to someone who had told me that they had a battery explode on them some time ago and did some damage under their hood. I was curious as to what would cause a battery to explode?

Need some advice on clutch for Z06

I have a '06 Z06 and was looking at Spec and Fidanza for my clutch replacement. I wanted to know which clutch will stand up better to a modified Z06 with least chatter.

Question on cold cranking amps

After a dead battery this morning I have found myself shopping around for a new battery today. I have been finding battery's with a wide variety of advertised cold cranking amps. I'm wondering are the higher cranking amps needed for big motors, what is the sweet spot needed for a C6 Corvette? Also if you get a battery with a high amount of cranking amps, can that harm the cars electronics?

Any auto insurance agents here,I have a 1997 Ford F-350 crewcab long bed Dually that I have full coverage on,I want to drop some of the coverage on this truck because of it's age,I live in Georgia,can anyone advise? I mean I know I have to keep No fault and liability but what can I safely drop?

Couple questions regarding ported intake manifold for C6

Does 10HP for ported intake manifold sound about right for a LS2? I have someone who is going to charge me $240. I was wondering does this sound about right? I was surprised you could get more power from the stock part, or is it maximized as it is?

Hi Flo Cats

I have Kooks headers with hi flo cats. How are these cats different from the stock ones? Are they just smaller or the construction and material used different? How can you tell if the cats are bad when using aftermarket? I know the stock ones will blow out whitish smoke. Is it the same for hi flow cats?

Reason I ask is I just had a fresh up tune installed on the car and was told the car was running on the lean side. After thinking about this, I realized that if the car was running lean, then my cats could have paid the price.

What do you think?

Putting a LS7 in a 2006 A6

Can a LS7 go into a 2006 A6? What will I need to do in order to make this happen? Will the A6 hold up to the LS7 power?

What about the cars computer communicating with the LS7 motor and A6 transmission. Will there be any problems?

I have not purchased the motor yet, I'm just doing my home work to see if possible.

Daily Driver

Before I trade my 06 Mustang GT (auto) daily driver on a C6, I would like to know if there are any major concerns (other than not wanting to get the car dented/scratched) that would keep it from being a suitable replacement. Most of my miles are city, but I still average around 19 MPG between fill ups with my GT. My commute is roughly 40 miles round trip and I would have to opt for the A6 transmission due to the traffic. I really wanted a 2010 Camaro SS, but I can get a used C6 for cheaper than a new Camaro due to dealer mark-up. I've owned both Camaro and Mustang alike, but have yet to own a Corvette because I'm always hearing that they are not daily drivers.

Mustang vs Dynojet Dyno

My last dyno was done on a Mustang dyno. I just got told that you can add a solid 15% to the Mustang dyno numbers to come up with ballpark what the Dynojet would have shown. OK, so now that I am completely lost. What is more accurate dyno?
