: Stripes Sharfire55 09-19-2007, 07:58 AM I have an 04 (blue commemorative edition with the silver and red striping on the hood) and a rock or something must have hit the silver part of the stripe on the hood and put a tiny chip in it. Didn't want it to get worse so I took it to the dealer and had just the silver stripe replaced. Yikes! $375.00 later. Well nothin's cheap I suppose. Just a heads up to anyone who might wonder. Body show was going to charge me $980. These stripes you are talking about are decals? You have any photos? Just the Silver part on one side costs me $375.00. I don't know but I'm guessing that probably a good deal of that is labor. My guess is if you had the entire hood redone with the decals it would be over $1200.00, just guessing though. I haven't posted a pic of my vette but it's basically the 2004 blue commemorative edition with the removable top. It's been a really good car so far, only 34,000 miles on it. I just had the front brakes done and it cost almost $230.00 (I had a tire repaired too and I don't know how much of it was tire repair). So people, take care of your stripes! | |
