I love my 1967 C2 Corvette, but sometimes really hate driving it because of the mileage. I would love to drive this as a daily driver! Do you sell any kits as a kit, and not all packaged up?

67 Rally,
We can do replicas as well as modifiy / upgrade originals. If you want a new chassis under an original body or you want to give that original a face life we can do it.... You dream it up and we will build it.

I have a '67 and love the car. Went to your site over the weekend and curious on a couple of questions.

1. Do you guys provide parts for '67's?
2. Whats the sticker on a kit for '67?
3. On these kits does the buyer have the choice to build or you all build?

Wallywally,
Since we are dealer's for major vendors of corvette parts we can generally give you better discounting on parts. Because we do not have the resources/time to look up every part we ask that you provide the manufacturer name, part number, and pricing so we can try to bet it. We can do better on high dollar items such as motors, tranny, brakes, wheels and tires, exhaust, etc. or on large quantity orders.

The sticker on a turn-key obviously varies. A body and chassis will run around $32K. From there you add the motor, tranny, wheels and tires, exhaust, body and paint, interior, chrome, etc. and you can be up to $95-100K. If high priced options are added such as air ride, procharger, all chrome and polished hardware, custom work, etc you'll definitely be over $100k. It all depends on what you want to add.

You can build the car yourself. We can supply the body and chassis and you can take over the build from that point forward. Feel free to call for additional questions you may have.

Beautiful work, was wondering how long it takes you all to build one of these? I'm not in the market so my question is more curiosity.

Wallywally,
It takes about 8-12 months to build. Alot depends on how much customization is being done, back orders on parts, changes from the original plan, etc.

Just my luck,
In regards to upgrading the suspension on your '65 vette my first question is do you want to have a Dana with independent rear suspension or are you open to having a 9" with triangulated 4-bar in the rear? We can provide both. Just call the shop and we can discuss further.

I'm open, drawing ideas at this point what do you all recommend? What are you guys using most of time in your projects?

Just my luck,
There has been a lot of debate as to which rear suspension set up is best. Bottom line it's more of a personal preference. Some things to consider:
A) What is the car going to be used for
B) Cost
C) Weight savings
D) Reliability and access to parts
E) ease of tearing apart

Part of the secret to handling is to keep the tires contact patch as large as possible. With all that said, we have an even mix of people who prefer straight axle vs IRS.

Car will be a cruiser, doing shows and just getting out on the weekends, no drag racing, for the weekend drives wanted a updated suspension, this is why I wanted a newer suspension than the OEM?

Good stuff, now heres another question: Once car is built what is the process of making the car legal with DMV? Its not a production car so how does this work to make it legal for the roads?

What do these kits cost? What all is included and what will still need to be purchased?

Just my Luck,
If your not a purist then go with the 9" rear housing. Parts are easily accessible and weighs less than the Dana. If you want to maintain the true Corvette look, then stay witht he Dana. Realize, that there are more moving parts in the Dana. If something goes bad then repair is more involved.

WallyWally,
If your just going to upgrade a components or components in the vehicle then your okay with the BMV. However, if your talking about a fresh new build (replica), then the car is titled replica / kit, the year it was built. We strongly suggest you contact your BMV to find out what the requirements are. Laws will vary from state to state.

Goldfinger,
The body alone is $15,500. Body comes with power windows installed, doors hung, hood hinged and latched, floor pan installed. Body is gel coated. No trim / chrome. We can supply body alone, chassis alone (9" rear or dana), or body on chassis all the way to turnkey. The chassis will run aroung $15,500 as well. For more info visit our website at www.hitekhotrods.com

We will be doing a complete overhaul of the website real soon. We are also in the process of creating a new brochure. Hope to have the brochure complete sometime in February. Thanks
