A friend of mine has one of these and swears by it, I'm wondering should I spend the $500 on this stand along unit or go out and spend nearly double and get a navigation unit with radio?

Go with the one with the radio, bit more but much better.

For the Vette :iagree: for your other cars or daily driver TomTom's are great, we have one. Easy to use.

If you pay attention to other cars at night, you can see more and more cars these days have these little GPS units, can't say if they are all the TomTom's.

I have the Garmin C550 which is a really good GPS unit, also has the bluetooth so I can use my phone hands free, really good. Has an mp3 player too but only as a stand alone, not wired into the stereo. Got mine for around $200 on Ebay.
