I have had this happen before. You can clear the code manually as you would any other code; however, it will more than likely come back up within an hour. (You can also clear that code while actually driving as well so no need to pull over everytime)

The problem I had that caused this was a faulty sensor with something to do with the gas pedal (yes, the gas pedal). Now I am sure there is a more technical answer than that but that was how it was explained to me in dumb mans terms.

When you take it in, tell them to check out the gas pedal and surrounding parts, sensors as it took my shop 2 days to figure it out. Hopefully it may save your shop some time and you some $$.

If you don't have any mods on your car it means that the airflow going into the engine compared to the throttle position did not match and the PCM closed the throttle in response.

Could be something as simple as a dirty throttle body. Check there first.
Check your car for codes too. IF you have some report back what they were.
