I have an '81 and would like to beef up the suspension a bit? Any ideas or suggestions on modernizing this 35 year + suspension?

Thanks guys!

By the looks of your avatar pic.Your car looks like its ride height in the back looks good. I would also agree with replacing and bushings with urethane ones. It will tightened up everything and maybe take car of any squeaks or rattles

I went with mono leaf composite front and rear. Adjustable ride height and spring responce on all corners. Ah LOVES it!

Beautiful car Me80C3! I was looking to ride of my 1982 C3 and buy a C5, I'm actually thinking about keeping the C3 and turn it into a project Vette and drive the C5 around for daily driver. this mono leaf composite are you 100% satisfied? Are there any other options that are realistic? Thanks bro

I got the complete set up from Ecklers. Part number 40043, $2300 and some change. I am completely satisfied. Took down a crotch rocket in the twisties, and never went over the speed limit.
You can look through Ecklers suspension options, they have some good choices, but I'm extremely happy with my choice.

PS
Thanks for the compliment.

Who did the install you or shop? Is this a DYI job?

A friend of mine has a shop, and told me he would help me do the install.
I dropped the car off one weekend and went back the next to get started. I walked into the shop and he looked at me and smiled, "Ya ready?", he asked. I said, "you bet". He said, "I'll move the car for ya." He got in, started it up, drove it outside, got out, walked up to me with a big grin, and said, "It's done". So, yes it is a self install kit, but no, I didn't install it myself. He even did the new trailing arms and third member.
The kit came from Ecklers. It is a complete change over with no mods required, bolts right in. I was figuring 4 weekends to do the job, he did it, by himself, in 5 days. He's never done any work on a Vette 'cept for mine.

Vette Brakes is the company that developed the same suspension kit I got from Ecklers.

I installed VB&P performance package, w/off-set trailing arms and it was worth it.
The handling and ride is so much better.

You mind me asking where you got those GT springs?

Strongly recommend you look at the packages by Vette Brakes. Their suspension upgrades will make a Vette turn on a dime at top speed and give 9 cents change.
