They seemed confused at the track. I liked the video just wondering what it was they thought they were doing at the track afterwards.

Nearly 1400 HP you have got to be kidding me? And I thought a Vette was fast! :willy_nilly:

40 psi of boost? God damn thats alot. Almost 1400 hp, I'd like to see the dyno sheet. I wonder what mods the Z had because not once did that Supra pull it.

What kind of "life expectancy" with the Supra's mod are we talking, one night or two days?

I don't know, the Supra obviously runs good in the video but the questions remains for how long. I'll just stick to the Ling twin turbo (1200 hp) and have a 3 year 12K warranty. :patriot:

Thanks for sharing and good day.

Supras have one of the best bottom ends ever made. Supporting 1000 hp is not much of an issue for them. But show me ANY car that make 1400rwhp reliably. That just doesnt happen. At least we can see the videos of the guys that are willing to pay for it.

23 psi on a V block engine is no more reliable than 40psi on an inline supra engine. Not sure what the issue is here. You or me dont have either one and on the street it doesnt matter whos pushing what as long as the job gets done.

Its like this, you can build and design any thing to do a 1000 miles an hour and have 4000 hp. The point is, for all around daily driving and occasional 1/4 straight line running thats reliable, my choice is obvious, thats it. No pissing match here my friend

:iagree: How many miles can you put on that Supra with out having to rebuild the motor because of all the strain that that boost put it through?

If you're looking to whoop a 1375hp supra, go to thomsonengines.com, they have a lsx 2000hp build.
I'm new so I couldn't post the link yet.

OMG, what in the world could you do with 2000HP? :smack: Don't misunderstand me, more is always good. But 2000HP? What could you do with the car? There is no way even at 70MPH you hammer on the pedal that you are going to get any traction?

:iagree: You know that motor is being rebuilt on regular basis if this car is being run hard frequently. Imagine how hot that motor must run.

lol....they knew what they were doing...lol
I know most of those guys, they are down here in Houston.

We have something we put on at the track called the 60-130 competition.

The way it works is Peter (they guy in the white shirt) places a "drift box" in your car which plugs into your cigerette lighter. The box is a GPS type unit that can tell you how many seconds it takes you to get from 0-60mph, 50-100mph, etc....and finally 60mph to 130mph.

No christmas tree lights are needed or used since it is a race in which you are racing yourself (trying to get from 60mph to 130mph in the least amount of seconds possible.)
We are allowed to start just before the water box to take off. You can do it from a roll or from a stop. A lot of un-modified cars choose to start as far back as they can so they will have enough room in the 1/4 to hit 130mph.

How fast do the Supra's do it in??
I consider my 700hp car fast and my quickest 60-130 time ever was a 7.0 seconds.

The Supra's are doing it in 4.XX seconds. Yes, it is crazy fast.
If you guys do not have this type of event at your local track, yall should try to get done.

Tons of fun to watch and do !!! You really get to see where your car is lagging and doing well concerning power bands and shifting. All the info the "drift box" records is downloaded to your computer and graphed. It really allows you to dial your car in once off of the dyno.

^ thanks for the explanation. I was really confused watching that vid, I thought either those guys had no clue what they where doing or it was some kind of event. either way it seemed like they where driving more then a 1/4mile and getting kind of a running start.

in the first part of the vid I was surprised the supra didn't destroy that vette. to me it didn't seem like it had 1300 hp. any idea what that car traps???

Toward the end is the 60-130 mph competition at LMR(John Hennesey owned) in Sealy TX. happens every couple of months. Get the tires hot and then just go, Bob Helms turbo NOS supra is current world record of 3.9's sec

the all out street car competition is in March 09 where dyno, 60-130, 1/4 drag, and road track points are added up and the end of 4 days and the trophy is given to the most points.
