Where I live in Nevada it gets very hot during the late spring through early fall. I've heard that superchargers have a heat issue, I was wondering about the STS twin turbo system, with the turbo's mounted in the rear how's this thing act in the high temps?
I liked the Procharger system but then there are way to many people saying that the big intercooler blocks the air from the radiator?

STS most likely going to me the one with the less heat issues. Just my thoughts. Turbos in the rear, no heat under the hood? :willy_nilly:

heat is bad for any type of forced air, make esure you have a good intercooler

In Vegas (or any extremely hot climate for that matter) the heat that affects the cooling of the car is not so much of a F/I "Type" relation, as much as it is the location, size, and obstruction of your I/C in relation to your cars cooling and A/C system. Even though the STS is rear mounted, the I/C is front mounted. You have a distinct advantage over C5 guys due to your front valance.
So in reality, as long as you take the NECESSARY precaustions to aid against overheating, you'll be fine with any type of F/I.
Our climate requires us to make modifications to ALL base systems so they work best for us. Theres nothing worse than having to pull over cause your car is running 230+*, cause some company in MI designed their S/C for temps that never get over 80..:ack2: :smack:
Let me know if I can be of any assistance..

BTW thanks for reply. :patriot: I've been doing some more research and found that there are different I/C that you can purchase to replace the ones from the FI company? Then again there isn't a ton of open space on the C6? Correct?

I have a 2005 ProCharged C6. I installed a Ron Davis 57mm radiator, 160 t'stat, and Meziere electric water pump at the same time. Initally, I experienced high cooland and oil temps, but after doing the "Big Bollas" mod, my temps plumitted. This procedure is detailed over on the Corvette Forum, and modifies the intercooler location. With this mod, my coolant temps now never exceed 200 and oil 210 degrees, even with the ac at full tilt in 100 degree afternoon traffic. It's an easy mod that can be performed on a Saturday morning, and well worth the time.
