Now I am having trouble getting my old one off? It seems to be stuck and I don't want to hurt it? I wonder if it is cross threaded? I didn't do the oil change the last time. Should I just put a wrench on it and hammer it out and hope for the best?

I would spray some WD40 or PB on it to see if it is just stuck, before you go hammering away at it. Hopefully whoever did the oil change the last time didn't crossthread it!!!:banghead:

they shouldn't be that hard to come out, it most likely is stripped. Has it been leaking at all?

Well you're going to have to take it off sooner or later, I'd be prepared to tap the drain plug if I were you before you start.

Why not just leave it in the glovebox til the next oil change and hand the new one to the tech?

Exactly what tcr02 said!! let the techs deal with it, just tell them to put the new one in and voila!! you don't have to worry about it!
