I ran a 12.21 @ 115 mph with a homemade Cold air intake and Mickey Thompson 16" ET Streets! What do you have done to get into the 11's?

I used two conical filters and some home depot parts! I know it was kinda ghetto but I was paying for a wedding!!! I have since upgraded to a Halltech and have added the B&B Bullets and a tune, but have not been back to the track yet!

The intake setup worked ok but the filters would ocassionally come loose, so that is why I upgraded.

I had no shame in the nitrous bottle when my '01 ZO6 ran an 11.45 but then it blew up from a nitrous backfire.... no more nitrous for me!!! Here is the video: http://www.spdkilz.com/video-audio/Video-Audio/Corvette/James'Z06.wmv

Thanks man! When it happened this video was all over the internet!!! I know it was downloaded or 100,000 times from spdkilz.com alone and every once in a while it pops up on another site again!!! It is actually kind of funny seeing all the different (made up) stories have circulated the internet. I saw one that said $100,000 modified ZO6 blows up!

Wow! You are a lucky guy-I was in my accident in 07/09/05 3 months to the date. I was not lucky enough to walk away, my transportation was a heli to the nearest shock trauma center.

Just watched the video .... that sucks.. I am in a corvette now due a similiar incident at the track.. Racing an 03 Z06 in my 06 Roush stage 1 with a 12lb Whipplecharger (486hp to the wheels), I had a water line let go at the 1000 foot mark just as I was shifting into fourth. *** end jogged slightly to the right and then whipped back to the left and put me head on into the wall at about 110mph.. I was all over the internet and local web sites for awhile... Here is a photo after the carnage was over.... The first photo was taken with a camera that I had in the car right after the crash. The car is still on the track!

Amen, this is a good time to mention that, in our pursuit of more power, lets not forget the proper safety equipment along the way!
When you consider that new blower or turbo, you might also look at some bigger brakes, roll cage, etc. depending on your intended uses.

I would be happy to discuss any safety equipment requirements, just drop me a line.
