The front bumper got in a fight with a class 3 receiver hitch. To make a long story short the front bumper had to be replaced. Turns out GM doesn't make this anymore. Got one from Eckler's but it was the hard type as opposed to the soft type bumper. Get the car back from the body shop and not one single body seam lines up right, the hood pinches the bumper when you open it. There are gaps in the driving lights recess, ETC.... The body shop says it's a problem with the bumper, : it's too big ?? Anyone run across this problem before HELP!! The body shop wants to have another crack at it. What to do?

These bumper covers have to be fitted to each car,They are not a bolt on repair. Find a new body shop that works on Corvettes. Eckler's is one of the best, I have tryed them all!

too bad you did not get a good used one , might of been a better fit ,i know a guy in my area that has about ten parts cars ,lots of parts ,i just picked up a perfect 4+3 tranny for 350.00 it was a great buy for me as i wanted to keep the old one for parts ,and really do like the tranny they are pretty bullet proofe.

The body shop had a chance to stop and make sure it all lined up and worked as it should and didn't. That right there tells me that there not much of a shop. I would cause hell and recover anything back from them and move on. A used bumper is the way to go, but this can still be fixed with the right people. Do some homework on the shops.
Good luck!

Thanks LTIPower.
I'm the owner of a Corvette repair shop in Florida. Working on nothing but Corvettes for 22 years I have seen every problem there is at least once. Glad to help.

Thanks for the info. Looking back I should have gone with a used bumper. I guess there is nothing like a factory fit.
