Is there a remote start system for C6's yet? I use to have a Viper on one of my older cars and would like to have the remote start for my C6???

I'm near 100% you still can't use remote start on these cars. I just checked with car audio guy not to long ago.

:iagree: Plus I believe you would need to have another FOB/remote in your pocket.

I think you can add an aftermarket alarm with remote start to it. I think it's Clifford...or something like that. You'll also pay a pretty hefty price though. $700.00 Installed! :eek: Who knows....maybe the guy was fibbin' to me.

But then the car needs to sense the FOB around for it even to start?

On a C6 Corvette?

Haven't done one on the C6 yet, but according to my notes, it can be done. You will have to give up one key for the operation of the Proximity Bypass, which allows the car to sense the key, only during the remote start operation, and then starts the car. The car itself will stay locked, and will unlock when it recognizes your other key fob.
As an installer for 12 years, my specialty is alarms and remote starts, and Corvettes. :) It can be done, just be sure to find a good installer with plenty of competent experience, and the knowledge of Corvettes.
Also, I recommend ONLY the alarm systems made by Directed Electronics... Viper, Python, Hornet, Clifford, Avital, etc. They are the best, and will give you years of trouble-free operation!!! Viper and Python have Lifetime Warranty if installed by a dealer for Viper or Python alarms.
If you can't find anyone to do it, feel free to call me to set up a time at my shop, and I will do the install for you. :)
NOTE: I am available to fly out to your location to do an install. I will need a garage to do the work, however. :) :cheers:
