It happens to us once and awhile... we just flash the key near the switch and leave the key in the cup holder.

Do you have your actual key with you? If you have the key you can unlock the rear hatch and climb in to get the fob. If the fob is too far from the dash it will not read sometimes. Where is the fob located in the car?

I have accidentally put mine in the back and it won't recognize that an FOB is in the car and it will lock itself. So it could be very easy to do.

I have done that a few times after softball... just throw my softball bag in the trunk with my keys in it!!! Oops...luckily for me the top was out of the car both times!!!

Easy to fix, just get a hanger and straighten it out then just jam it down the side of the drivers window and fish around until something happens!! Maybe I'm thinking of my 1982 Corrolla!:D

I have done this a couple of times...

The only way to do it without the key is to get a long somewhat thick wire and a paper plate or something to use to help not scratch the car..

You need to push back the rubber on the top back of the driver window and get that wire down to the floor.. make sure you hook the end of the wire so that when you get the wire down to the floor board you can manually pull the door latch.. It takes some determination but within 20 minutes you will be in your car...

Are you serious? I didn't think that could be done with these cars?

This is why I keep my FOB secured to my pants by one of those "climbers" hooks! This way I am sure that the FOB will be with me at all times!

I always keep the other FOB in a safe place away from the car and the FOB that goes with me for the ride will always be in my pocket.

If you have the key, insert it above the license plate and open the trunk. Find the appropriate cable and pull it to open the door.

If you have the key, insert it into the slot above the license plate and open the trunk. Find the appropriate cable and pull it to open the driver's side door. Good Luck!

I have had issues where the car doesn't see the FOB and you have to pull it out of usually in my pocket and wave it in front of the start button.

Fella's

This happend to me as I travling across country.. Luckly i was in my uncles driveway when it did happen.. Long story short AAA could not get into the car, they sent 3 diffrent LOCK smiths. 2 tried the windows and 1 tried to pick the lock in the rear. When the Keys get loked in the car something happens where all the power gets cut off to the car after a certain amount of time.
Well they had the tool inside the window from the outside trying to push the unlock button and it was not doing anything!! Well anyways I had to wait for the morning and go to the nearest Chevy Dealership (40 Miles).. I called back to my dealership and got the KEY CODE. They ended up cutting me a NEW key for th rear of the car.

Ughhh It was a good leason though i know I will always keep the FOB on me no matter what from now on!

The problem I get is that I always have the FOB in my pocket and some times the FOB isn't seen by the car and I look silly when I try to raise my hip pocket next to car to open the door! ha ha ha
