I am thinking of getting these. I have heard that the y will give you some good hp and that the sound is very '60s muscle. I also heard that they tend to leak and it sounds like the car is weezing!? Has anyone here had any experience with this product?

Well on the C6 they have to be mounted towards the back of the car so they aren't as loud as some would expect but still very nice. As far as leaking, that would be on the person who welded the cutouts in. Make sure you get it done at a professional place.

I like the electric cutouts, it is nice to be able to open and close the exhaust when you want. Two of my friends had used the QTP cutouts on their Trans Ams and both of them had to replace the cutout about once a year and only one time did QTP do something to fix the cutout for them. Take a look on this page towards the bottom, there is another brand called DMH and they seem to have a better warranty on their cutouts. http://www.ls1speed.com/catagory.cfm?catagory=Exhaust

I think the B&B Fusions are like that. But I think that they might just be for the Z06's

They are more trouble than they are worth and like "shocker" stated QTP doesn't do much when customers complain about their product! That alone would make me not want to deal with them.

Well alot of it has to do with how and who installs them! If you have someone that is not very experienced then there might be leaks that form and bad placement.

Exactly, I had a regular muffler shop put a set on my Fbody and I had not used these folks before, well after a while their welds actually fell off and that is when I started hearing all the leaking noises! Well I took it to a very nice place and they explained to me that the original people did not get both the metals hot enough during the weld and that is why it didn't stick! Owell you live and you learn!

I am not refering to the welding of the Y exhaust piece into place, I was refering to the quality of the electric opener made by QTP. The rivets and mechanicals kept on breaking off!

Shocker, is this because of cheap manufacturing? Or is it just prevailent to these setup no matter who makes them?

Like I said in an earlier post I recommend checking out the other brand because they have a 4 year replacement warranty. It seems the production on the QTP's is not that great from my experience.
