Here is the process on removing the doorpanels, as I mentioned in the above post...

These pics are from an install I did on a 2006 Corvette C6 Convertible... I have titled this as a continuation of the above post, so as to be fair... :) A picture of the vert is below...

Here we go...

In order to remove the door panels, you will need some basic tools. You will need a door panel removal tool of some sort that will not damage your door panel... don't use a screwdriver, and if you have to, please use a thick rag that will keep from marring up your doors...
You will also need a cordless drill or socket set, a 7mm socket, and a T30 Torx bit to remove the door panel. That's it. :) Ohh, and a little bit of finesse, and alot of muscle. :D Those door panels clips are tough to pull out the first time... :)

I like to have ziploc bags labeled with the parts, so that they don't get lost... be sure to wrap up any parts in some soft cloth to keep the screws from scratching them in the ziploc bag. A pic is below...

Now, the part you see in the above pic is a cover that hides the 2 Torx head screws that must be removed on the driver's side door panel... the passenger side screws are in a different location. 1 is located under the grab handle in a recessed hole, and the other is behind the door popper switch.

Be sure to label the bags, :smack: and I use rubber bands to keep the cloth around the parts so that they don't come off and become prey to those screws in the bag... :)

Below is a pic of the pass. side popper switch wrapped up in cloth, ready to be put into the bag...

Below is the screws and the popper in the passenger side parts bag... notice the (4) 7 MM bolts with the Torx screws... those are the 7MM bolts that hold the 10" driver in the door. You will reuse those when mounting your new speaker plates on the door. :)

Finally, when you get the Torx head screws removed from the door panel, feel up under the door panel, towards the rear of the panel, and you will feel a small rectangular opening. That is where you want to start when removing the door panels... pull gently, but FIRMLY on the door panel, and the clips will come loose... that's all there is to it... simple, huh? :)

Don't forget to keep your stuff in a box where you can find them when you are ready to replace the door panels. Below is a pic of what I do if I am going to be working on the car for any extended period of time...
