Radioflyer97's How-To Post #18: Turning any open element filter into a cold air intake.

My left forearm was crushed in a horrible accident when a kitten chewed it completely off. I had it replaced with a Halltech intake :D

It took a little getting used to, but i think it's quite fitting

I'm giving the "halltech" finger

okay...enough silliness onto the mod:

Compare the stock size K&N filter to the huge halltech. I believe the Halltech was supposed to be for a C6, but at $75 for the whole assembly, it was a clearance steal.

Step 1: remove shroud and modify for cold air scoop: I used a wall pocket for holding folders (can be purchased at staples or any office supply store) The location and size of the hole you'll need is dictated by the intake you're using. Dual cone filters may require two.

Complete unit installed. I had to drill holes for the PCV, air temp sensor and that little tube thing that comes out the side of the air coupler. I had to get a 4"-4" coupler to fit.

Test drive results: no codes, great low end acceleration.
