Step 1 – To remove the front orange (amber) corner lenses from the C6 Corvette you will need to open the front section of the inner wheel well. To gain the best access to the lense you will want to remove all 8 of the plastic push pins that hold the inner fender well in place. These push pins are easily removed with a flathead screwdriver and a pair of pliers. You will first need to pop the small head of the pushpin out with the flathead screwdriver and then use the pliers to pull the whole push pin out. Once you have removed all 8 the inner fender should move enough to allow you to reach into the bumper(Note: You can access the lense by only removing 3 of the pushpins but I don’t recommend doing this if you have never removed the lenses before)
Step 2 – Now that you have easy access to the inner part of the front bumper you should be able to easily access the two tabs that hold the amber lense in place. See picture 2 to see what the back of the lense looks like. The tab that is located towards the back of the car will need to be pulled towards the back of the car for it to pop out and the tab located closer to the front of the car will need to be pushed forward to allow it to pop out of the bumper.

Step 3 – Once the lense is popped out of the bumper you can turn the bulb socket about a ¼ of a turn to release the bulb from the lense. This completes the removal of the lense.

Step 4 – The reason I removed the lense was to Tint spray my lenses. I know that these can be bought for about $150/pair but I thought it was worth a shot at painting my own. I picked up a can of VHT Night Shades part # VHTSP-999 from Lee Auto Parts for $9.99. I made sure to take my time and do very light coats with the tint spray after cleaning the lenses with Paint Thinner. It is very important that the first coat be extremely light so that you don’t get a lot of fish eyes. I ended up doing about 6 coats on mine with the 5th and 6th coats being put on pretty liberally. I would recommend that you do about 3 coats and then check them with the lights on so that you can see how well the light shows through and then check each coat after that until you get it to your liking.
Step 5- After letting the paint dry for at least an hour(the longer you wait, the better it is). You can go ahead and replace the lenses and reverse the beginning steps.
