LOWEREING YOUR VETTE ON STOCK BOLTS

1. Jack up one side of the car with a jack.2.
2. Look at the end of the leaf spring and you will see a 10mm hex head. That is the top of the top of the bolt that you will turn to lower your car.
3. You will need a jack stand. Jack the car high enough so you will be able to position it on the leaf spring so you can relive the tension on the spring. You need to slowly lower the jack and you will reach a point when you see the spring is no longer moving but the car is still coming down...DO THIS SLOWLY.
4. Using a 10mm ratchet box wrench turn the bolt counter clockwise all the way until the bolt stops turning.
5. Jack the car back UP and remove the jack stand.

Doing this on all four wheels will lower your car about 7/8"

Be careful to make sure your jack points are secure before you go sticking your hands underneath the car. I do this all the time and it take me about 15 minutes..give yourself an hour if you never have done it before.

It never hurts to get an alignment to make sure everything is just right.

:iagree: You can also use a bottle jack to jack up the bottom of the leaf spring to take the tension off of the adjuster (one side at a time).

I lowered mine several months ago. The only recommendation to this thread is to start with the back of the vehicle first.

The rear will not lower as much as the front will. Count how many turns on each side (driver and passenger side) and bring her all the way down. Mine only lowered around 1/2" on the stock bolts.

Then do the same with the front using the same amount of turns you got with the rear (assuming your Vette was already level).

Take her for little drive to let the springs relax. I lowered the front 3/4" for a little stance.

Had to get a alignment after she was lowered on the stock bolts.

Bottle jacks are hydraulic, telescoping jacks that are placed in a horizontal position.

Unhhh...vertical dude...vertical. Just rest it on it's base...dont turn it sideways. That creates an unsafe condition and uses the jack for something other than what it was intended for...which is to lift something straight UP...not move it sideways.:patriot:
