Does anyone have any experience with the Pioneer AVIC Z3 or D3??
I really like the Pioneer brand and was wondering is the Z3 worth the extra $$ compared to the D3 or even D2. I can see some features with the Z3? Any sort of 411 is appreciated.

I looked at both for quite a while... the only difference is a couple extra navigational views, a hard drive to store CD's directly onto the HU, and a 7" screen... I personally went with the Z2 (now upgraded to a Z3 with a faster, smoother Toshiba hard drive from eBay) but if I had to buy again, the D3 would of been fine. Look at the new F series.. very nice... I can't see spending the $ difference for a HU if your not going to utilize the hard drive...

Pioneer is the big boy on the block right? How is Alpine, Eclispe, Panisonic? Do any of these even come close to the Pioneer? You always see people talking about the Pioneer audio systems. :willy_nilly:

Pioneer and Eclispe are the two big ones for the head units. Well these are the ones that most use and you read about.

If you want to use the DVD you can't have the navigation CD in it? With the hard drive you can store the navigation stuff on there correct?

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a new head unit, mine doesn't have navigation so I would be looking for a navigation unit, which I believe would be the Z3 right? Who has the best prices on this? Anyone install yourself?
