Of course being down in FL its hot as all *%#@ but it seems that my engine is runniig a little hotter than other summers. It stays over 200 all the time now when I remember that it usually stayed under 200. Could my thermo be going bad? It is the stock one.

Naw, if your TStat was bad you'd see some steam! Believe it or not you're probably running within specs. The LSXs are designed to run hotter...
How long have you had the car?

Got it a couple years ago at a great deal and I am not that great at understanding engines! I just hope that they do what they supposed to! Well thanks for the answer and I will keep my eye on my temp and if it goes up any higher I will ask what options I have at that time!

You could check in front of your radiator to make sure you didn't suck up anything, it happens from time to time....

Good question, that would probably have something to do with it. I know on my 03 cobra I drove it alot and it had close to 100k on her and she was gradually staying hotter all the time and that is when I ditched it!

I don't have that many miles on her, but close, there are 88,976 but mostly highway miles. And actually for the past few days it has been acting well. But I am worried that if it acts up again it will mean that something is just holding on for dear life!

Yes I would say that if it acts up again get it checked because that is something you don't want to mess with especially in this heat wave!!

Well Just to let everyone know that the problem has gone away and everything seems to be fine!! I am actually looking at a 2004 C5 that only has 21K on her, so we will see where that goes!:D

If problem comes back, try cleaning out the Ac condenser. It's amazing how much dirt get stuck in there. Remove the upper radiator supports so you can seperate the radiator, AC condenser and the fan shroud. Don't need to remove them from the car, just get a few inches between them to work. Chean out the coil with a garden hose from behind, blowing the crap out the front.

Hey thanks friend! I read what you said and before I headed off to work I checked the area and it was quite dirty. So tonight I will use the compressore and clean that out, it looked almost packed!

Good call reeeedvett. Did you get the condenser area cleaned out?I replaced my foglight shrouds with vented ones and that seemed to keep the engine temps down. Did you go look at the '04 ?
