What are your thoughts on the Z51 package, is it worth it, is it that much better than the other setups? My friend has a regular setup and I can't tell the difference. Now a co-worker told me that the Z51 shines on a road course. Is this true?

I would expect the Z51 to outperform on a road course because that is its sole purpose. As far as at the drag strip goes, my buddy has a Z51 and ran a 12.64 on the same day I ran a 12.65 at the same track with my base C6 so I don't think the gearing makes much difference in the 1/4. My personal opinion is that the Z-51 was not worth it to me because the only reason I wanted it was for the Cross Drilled rotors and I can add those for a lot less than the Z-51 package costs!

I agree with this fella! I opted for the base version and although I don't drag race I just know a couple close friends that have the Z51 and F55 and they told me that unless I was an "expert" racer that I probably wont notice it anyways so why pay the extra?!

I got the Z51 because I liked the drilled rotors look and it had an overall stiffer ride that I liked better than the other setups. I also felt that if I ever sold my Vette that the Z51 would help the resale value a little bit.

I look at the z51 package like I do the z06 package. Most people who have a z06 will never drive it like it can be driven, they bought it because of what it can do and to have "the bragging rights". The z-51 will out handle the base c6, but once again, most owners will never put it to the test. The difference is... for under 2k, you can up-grade to the z51 package, it will cost you 25+k to upgrade to the z06.... Most won't admit it, but I got the z51 for the reasons above.
