I have a 1990 ZR1, I need an oil pan gasket. The dealer says none in the system, they've been discontinued for a long time. I've tried several aftermarket shops and no luck.

Since the pan is cast aluminum I'm thinking of forgetting the gaste and using RTV

Any advice or experience will be helpful

I would contact Mercury Marine first. Then, if no luck, rtv should be fine. While talking to Mercury ask their opinion too. You'd be surprised who you can just call up and speak with. I called McClaren one time because they developed stuff for Pontiac to ask a question and ended up speaking to one of the chief engineers.
