I posted information about a cracked wheel I found on my 2002 C5 a few weeks back . I have been inspecting local Vettes and have found 3 more cracked wheels on 8 cars . WHAT DOES THIS TELL YOU ? PLEASE INSPECT YOUR WHEELS !!!! Report to G M .

A cracked wheel could cause your tire to go flat during operation and your computer will tell you to proceed at a slower speed .DO YOU WANT TO KEEP DRIVING NOT KNOWING YOU HAVE A WHEEL THAT MAY BE ABOUT TO BREAK . Do you have any idea how little protection you have between a broken rear wheel that your engine is turning and the back of your head ? THIS IS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE....THIS IS YOUR LIFE . If you find a cracked wheel please call and report no matter how many miles you may have on your car .

Where exactly are you finding the break? Can you be a bit more specific, show photos??

I would like to get more info from u on your cracked wheels. I put 4OEM chrome wheels on my 98 vette 7/06. 1,997 miles later my right front had like stress marks (looks like this lllll) at each spoke.
Plus the chrome was pealing in around each spoke. This was the passenger front. Dealer replaced with no problem. 1,172 miles later the same wheel did it again. This time the marks went into the tire.
Nobody knows what the problem could be.

GM offered to replace wheel for $350.00. I want them to warn all owners of the problem.I have found several cracked wheels on Vettes found in the Greenville S.C. area . GM reps have NOT got back with me. I no longer trust my wheels . My car is parked .

The cracking is taking place at the base of the spoke where it joins the rim . My wheel will not hold air which means that the crack goes thru .There was an issue with peeling chrome on some of these wheels . This is a differant issue .

i dont have my OEM wheels but thanks for the heads up, just one more thing to check on vettes at car shows:lol:
