LOL, Welcome aboard, I was looking around at the posts and I saw your avitar and knew you were in WV. My best friend and his wife graduated from WVU and I had visited them a couple times. So, I do know about the fishbowl, I actually won a free drink by throwing the quarters into that container right behind the bar! I know you know what I'm talkng about! Have a good time and stay safe!

It would be nice to find there are more of us around than we thought!! Frank

Yes, I'm the original owner and I still have all the paper work on it. It seems like I have had it all my life. I have not drove it much in recent years. It's in great shape inside and out. I have 3 other sports cars including a Z06 and a couple of other cars. Here are a few recent pictures.

Don't ever be ashamed. It's still a vette. Trust me, mine didn't look like this when I bought it. It has taken me 3 1/2 years and about $15,000 to get it here, and I did all the work. Someone had actually painted all the aluminum suspension parts black before I got it. It took about a week to strip it all off and pollish the aluminum back up. Just take your time on yours, and do it like you want it, and I'm sure you'll get it to where you want it one day.

 Don't be embarrassed. We vet owners are driving an American Icon. No matter what the shape it is in. Some of us have, what I like to call, a starter vet and some of us can go out and buy a new 2009. It doesn't matter how big our wallets are. It is the love and compassion we share for a fantastic piece of American machinery. This passion, this love affair will continue for many, many years to come.

I hear you on the painted aluminum. It took a full 12 hours on each wheel well/suspension to get all the paint, rust, caked on road crud off. Every time I look, I see something I missed...and get the cleaning stuff out again. Guesstimate 20 hours each wheel well by now. Lower engine was unbelieveable. Almost believeable now : )
And it IS worth the effort.
