How long should a clutch last you? I have an 2003 with 62,000 miles and need to change the clutch? I do drive this car nearly 6 days a week. I'm not to crazy of driver but do like to play at times. Thank you for your help.

Bette,

A clutch can go a really long time with proper care. The more houlligan things you do, like burn outs and such are hard on it and will shorten the life noticably. I have a 91 subaru wagon 5 spd with 149000 miles and the original clutch is still going strong. I use it to pull the motorcycle trailer. So, compared to that, 62k is not too good, but I dont do burnouts in the subaru! :) I know people that have trashed clutches in 10k miles....but they were totally crazy!

Or you have unfortunate things like the slave cylinder leak all over the clutch and kill it at 36,000...
