To all my fellow Z06 er's, what is the maximum boost (safe boost) that I can run on a stock 2006 Z06? Thank you, also I would like to hear of anyproblems good or bad!

Assume your talking SC. I have a C5, with 16 lbs of boost and forged internals. With your LS7 I suspect you are safe until about 8 lbs.

Suggest you talk to a reputable tuner in your area. I gather your are from the Pacific NW. I don't know anyone out there. I know some folks in East Coast, Calif and Midwest if you don't have any local contacts who might be able to provide advice.

16lbs!!!! Holy sh*t!!! I am at just 6lbs. Now to get to your level do I need to get the upgraded internals as you have?? Also, with that amount of boost does the power still come on smooth?

What system are you running and what is your experience so far?

I have the A&A system and my experience is not very good!!LOL I like to have experts do the work and I will enjoy the end product!!

I have a Procharger D1SC 8 rib set up, with Diamond Pistons, Patriot Cylinder heads, Lingenfelter cam, Borla Headers, ESC Fuel pump* and Meth inj system. The meth inj, a large radiator and oil cooler (I am running a Dewitts) are essential to retard overheat on the track. I road race my car weekly. I also have installed a Tigershark front end to get better air flow to the radiator.

Supercharger installs often place the large diam intake hoses on the underside of the car, blocking most of the intake air to the radiator. C5 Vettes are bottom breathers.

If your having with your system (A&A) feel free to post or PM me and I will try to point you in the right direction. Tuners have helped, but frankly I have had to work out many issues on my own thru trial and error. Most tuners are more experienced in drag racing and aren't equipped to advice on road racing. They also don't seem to understand the cooling issues that come up under the high rpm and boost levels sustained on the track.

*If you are running anything more than 12 lbs of boost you will need a new fuel pump or your mixture will go lean at high rpm levels. The new APS fuel system is now the best one on the market. Whatever you do, install a meth kit. It's cheap and will keep your engine cool under boost.

PS. My experience has been great. I am able to run on the track on hots days and enjoy the engine. Never any issues on the street.

That's not to say I didn't have to work out some bugs to get there.

PS. If someone has no track aspirations and only wants some additional hp for the street, an APS twin turbo is probably the ticket.

One final answer to your question. Yes the power comes on smooth, albeit much earlier, which I like. Also, you are fine with stock internals until you get to around 8or 9 lbs of boost. ESC has a restrictor plate system, which allow you to run a smaller SC pulley which provides boost earlier and then caps the boost and essentially spills it off once you get to a safe level 8 or 9 lbs. Ie. you get the boost faster, providing better low end torque.

I will look into this then, I like the sound of it. I paid too much for my baby so I want to keep her running safe.........but fast!!
