I am also new so can't help you here. However I recommend that you get one of the repair manuals (Chilton or Haynes). They will give you some good instructions and pictures. They should be available at your local auto supply store or can be ordered from one of the Corvette supply houses i.e. Mid-America Motorworks - http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette.html , Zip corvette - http://www.zip-products.com/Zip/assets/html/homepage.asp?URLCheck=1 Ecklers - http://www.ecklers.com/ etc.

Good luck.

3 to 4 screws and light plug to remove the panel. Then 2 more screws and the ecm drops straight down. Then unplug the ecm. You have to lie on your back and look up under the dash to see the 2 ecm screws. Hope this helps.
