You got me here..:willy_nilly:

I'll post more info once I am officially a sponsor..:patriot:

But to answer the question, yes, there is a C6 Kenne Bell coming right around the corner. The manifold is currently being bench tested.

I'm not exactly sure of the rules yet. Being that I'm the distributor, I dont want it to come off as advertising. I do have a PM into the admin, so once I get the rules figured out, i'll get everyone up to speed. Gotta respect the rules.:patriot:

On the other hand, I am a supporting vendor on a different site where I have posted a bunch of info.

I'm curious on whats happening with Kenne Bell blower, I called in there last year after I was told that they new C6 blower would be out by October, but no dice. I have a 112 Magnuson that I can't stand, it seems so under powered for what I want. I've been looking at different forced induction options so would be interested to see if they are actually going to release this thing anytime soon?
You have any specs on it?

Well, to answer your question.. At the beginning of this year, the whole C6 project got scrapped. we just had too many irons in the fire..

What I will say now though, is we now OWN a 2008 C6 Test mule, the CARB testing has been paid for, and the manifold is currently being tested on the flow bench. The project is in full swing.

I am hoping to be a sponsor VERY VERY soon. When that happens, I will actually divulge the technical info as well as pricing, options, and timelines. Until then, you just gotta be bored with your maggie..:smack:

Mods: If that was too much info, please edit my post if nevessary..

Hey, I dont know what your talking about.. I put out on my prom night..

I have proof. He's 15 years old now, and is a major pain in my azz.. Did I mention that night cost me about 300 grand in the divorce..

Note to self. STAY AWAY FROM PROMS..:smack:

Now that i'm a sponsor, I'll post up the latest info tomorrow.

You C6 guys are gonna ***** your pants with the KB stuff thats hittin the streets in the next few Months. I'm talking about 600+rwtq out of the gate in stock trim. This isnt no lets wait around for 4500rpms to show up. I'm talking about a 300 shot of nitrous hitting you in the back of the head as soon as you put your foot to the floor..

Heres a taste of the C5: BTW, the plastic is to protect the paint.

:smack: :smack: Figured that would get you going! Holy crap what is that on the top of your motor?
Rumor is that this blower will be much bigger than most out there, is this meant to be used with stock LS2 block? Being larger what can be done about heat soak? Might be to early yet, any word on what the pricing may be?

Currently, the BASE KB blower thats being installed on the C6 is a 2.6L twin screw. To put the size into perspective, that is right around 44% LARGER than the current maggie thats avail. PLUS, the KB compresses the air BEFORE the I/C. This means far better cooling. Whereas, the Maggie uses the lower manifold AFTER the I/C to compress the air. That in and of itself is one of the reason the KB tends to run much cooler. The KB 2.8 is roughly 56% larger

As far as heat soak goes. Being that the blower is a much larger displacement, the rotors need to spin MUCH slower to produce the same boost as a maggie. Example: A 2.8L KB requires a 4.250" pulley to obtain roughly 10psi. A maggie MP112 requires roughly a 2.9" (Utilizing an MTI G1 cam).
When using a stock 7.5" crank pulley, the rotor speeds of the Kenne Bell are 11,440rpm's. The Rotor speeds of a maggie are 16,835 RPM's.

At this point, you have already exceeded the maximum rotor speed of the maggie. Yet the Kenne Bell has been tested to OVER 25,000 rpm's with a ZERO failure rate.

Basically, what i'm saying is, is although you WILL have some heat soak on either blower, you actually have significantly lower IAT's and less heat soak with the KB versus the maggie. This is based off of size, rotor speeds, blower efficiency, and manifold design.

Pricing for a COMPLETE KB 2.6 (Polished) WITH a custom hood, will be right around 7500 bucks."Retail". The same kit in (Black)will cost lesst than 7K. "Retail"

Smokinvette.com's pricing will be not only cheaper, but it will INCLUDE FREE SHIPPING to anyone in the lower 48 states..(Including the hood) :burnout:

How does the new Kenne Bell compared to Procharger?

Jeff2000

They are 2 completely different animals..

The power delivery, driveability, sound, and everything in between is different.

FWIW, I REMOVED my F1R Procharger, and replaced it with the KB. I dont know that I could ever go to a centrifugal again.

Corvette motors were NOT designed with linear torque curves in mind. It goes against the theory of what your trying to accomplish. The acceleration you feel is NOT hp, its torque. Why would anyone want torque to gradually increase with RPM? It does not allow for adequate throttle modulation.

I know, I know, to much torque at low RPM's is undriveable.. BU!!*****..:bs: Its actually SIGNIFICANTLY easier to drive. Because the power is predictable, and NOT rpm related.

Damn... that supercharger will have more displacement than most cars on the road!

BTW... Thanks for taking the time and giving me the 411 on the Kenne Bell supercharger. You certainly answered all my questions! My mind is set for the new build!
