Just when I'm beginning to enjoy driving my Vette to events without overheating problems, even with the gas prices (thanks again for the free gas!), I developed an electrical failure in the adjustable speed controller unit for the duel fans. Seems this is a big problem recently and almost all the companies who were making them, have stopped.
They are in the 're-design' stage and nothing much is available currently. Just my luck!
Spal, has quit making their nice unit and is redesiging their old one. Won't be in production until August,...or later they said.
Sure I can 'hot wire' the circuit with an on off switch, but then I'll have to pull the body back off later and re wire the new unit in once I get one.
Don't you just love this sport/hobby?:nopity:

Whats wrong with a standard on/off setup with a thermostat probe fan controller? Seems like a lot of electronics just to adjust fan speeds.

It IS the thermostat fan controller I'm talking about. The controller did NOT control the SPEED setting on the fans.
The replacement I've found WILL also do that, but I'm only getting it because I could NOT find the simple temp control devise.
Hope this clears it up. Glenn

A little off topic but, the top pic looks like it is of your dicast car.
Sucks to hear that your beutiful car is out of service for the time being.

Yeah they do. They BOTH are 'kits built from basicly scratch' sort of.

As for the Centech controller. They are no longer in business with that item so I've been told. I tried to get this one fixed first.
As I stated, the other brand copanies I called all sonfirmed that they were having 'issues' with the adjustable temp models and some were not planning on a redesign.'
I felt I was 'lucky' to find an option elsewhere even if it was a 1/3 more expensive.
As I said, just my luck!:mad5: Glenn

Until you see all the build photos, you really can't appreciate all the work and engineering that I put into building it.:ack2:
Glad you looked at the site and liked it. Glenn

The new controller from Flex-a-lite is wired completly different from the Cyntech unit, so it's been a VERY involved project to 'just bolt in' a new controller. Have had to pull the interior all apart to get to wires and switches and rewire everything involved. God I love this hobby!
I can't complain about the Cyntech unit. It's been in there and worked fine since 1994. Wish I could operate that steady without repairs for that long!

The photos can be found on my cardomain page. The entire history of the car is there (since new) in over 800 photos on 9 pages:

Yes, Except for welding, I did all the work: design, glass build, engineering, mechanical insallations, assembly work, & all at home in my two car home's garage. For the finish paint, I rented a paint shop's booth for two days and did the painting myself there.
I'd be honored to have you put some photos of my car on your website. Send me a link once you have them there, please.
Thanks, Glenn:cheers:

Sort of. It's driveable, but with all the thunderstorms we've been having each day for the past month and a half around here, I'm not going very far.

I'm looking forward to The Ultimate Corvette Party in Tampa area @ Ferman Chevrolet mid November. Also plan on a few local cruis nites in and around there about that time plus a trip up to Panama City to visit Alex, my childhood friend and fellow C-2 owner, and David Steele @ Sports Cars Unlimited while there. Got to keep the gas bill down as far as numerous trips is concerned, by consolidating as many stops in one trip as possible. Sure you understand. I had a fellow Vette member offer to pay for my gas and even put me up in a motel just to get LOVE over to one of their events on the west coast of Florida. Now that's really stepping up to help! Wow! :burnout: Glenn
