Yesterday on the way into the office, for no planned reason I decided to take a left when I should have taken a right. I continued driving and ended up putting almost 300 care free miles on my Vette and skipped out on work! Just driving, passing others as they most likely coming to or from a meeting/work and feeling special that I had a spontaneous day off!

lol, well what do you do for a living to be able to do that? I work at a bank and they probably would'nt take the excuse that I took a left when I should have taken a right!

I've taken a half day off. Gone to lunch and "forgot" to come back. I didn't put that many miles on my car. Actually truth be known there where a few of us that had a liquid lunch and ended up going to a shop and watching some cars on a dyno! :party:

I'm a sales manager for a small software company. So I have a little pull, it was so weird because I had no explanation why I did this! But it was such a awsome day! :party:

That's my point that I was trying to make! I would love to do that all the time and actually never go to work!! I would rack up so many miles!!:burnout:

I have actually done this a hanful of times! It is quite fun however I feel bad when I have to go back to work the next day and explain where I was!! lol

I wish...i'm a stay at home dad with 3 kids 1,4,6, the only time i get to play hooky is they are all sleeping and that never happens!:banghead:

I look for any reason to get out and drive this thing. During the day it's hard to get away from the office. When we lived in Huntington Beach it was fun to zip on down to Fred's (Mexican grill on the ocean) and have some lunch and a drink once in a while. Up in Sacramento especially during the summer months its just way to hot out! So you end up waiting till later in the evening to get out and drive the car.

HA! the truth comes out! so even the fellas at smokinvette skip on work! lol

Every chance I get! They just don't come that often. :(

I really enjoy just taking a long cruise to no where in particular. It's just that now with the gas prices you really start to think about your non planned driving events!

Well I can do it because I'm retired but with the gas prices the way they are it's kinda tough just cruising and eating up the $$$$$$$, but dam it's alot of fun.
