Not sure what to call it but its the hump between the driver and passenger that gets very warm when I'm driving. During the winter months the heat is welcomed, now with warmer summer months ahead of us its getting a bit to warm. Is there anything that I can do to reduce the heat?

Drivetrain hump since your engine is in the front and its a rear wheel drive vehicle.
The only solution I can think of is to buy some heat absorption material from Dynamat and install it underneath your carpeting.

I heard this in the past about Dynamat. Question: how much weight and how hard is this to install? You would need to remove seats and carpet correct? Any idea how much heat this stuff will "hide"?

There are different forms of Dynamat. The Dynamat you are use to seeing is a vibration damper while you will need the type of product that will absorb the heat and prevent it from coming through. Check out the Dynamat.com website to see which products will work for you.
The installation is simple but like everything else, removing stuff to get to it will be time consuming. You will have to remove the carpet which means you will probably have to remove the center console, seats, etc.
Not sure, but another option is maybe someone sells some type of heat shield like a cat converter heat shield but that is probably where the issue is coming from.

There is also a plate like deal that West Coast Corvette has for like $400 (i think) that you install above the h pipe under the car. They claim this will keep the area cooler. Another thing you can do is to get your headers coated, from what I have been told this will keep things a little cooler?
