I own a 69 vet. The alt is good and yet my battery keeps dying. I know i have a short somewhere but i can't seem to find it. How can I find the short without spending to much money?

Go to your battery.. Take off the Neg cable.. with a test light clip the one end of the test light to the neg cable.. Touch the other side of the test light to the NEG side of the battery... IF the test light LIGHTS up then you have a short or some sorta sorce that is draining your battery.. NOW finding it is the hard part.. Leave the test light connected and open your fuse panel.. Start pulling fuse's until the light goes out.. Once the light goes out then you have a starting point, on what circuit your dealing with..
hope this helps...
