See link below. Just bought used 2002 Z06. Will be stripping the car down to the chassis and selling off parts to build track only car. Should be alot of fun.

Will do. General build to include:
1. stripping interior of car out, including removal of heater core, a/c, air bags, side glass, interior padding, seats... and all non essential parts. Target weight when completed 2,600 lbs.
2. install of nascar type 6 point roll cage and fire protection system.
3. suspension to include removal of leaf springs and install of Moton coil overs and T1 bars, lowering and corner weighting of car.
4. New Fiske wheels and Pirelli Racing slicks: 315s front, 335s rear
5. New ACP Z11 carbon fiber body kit with world challange extractor hood, front splitter and world challenge wing (allows wider wheels front and rear without tubbing).
6. Install of Sparko Pro 2000 racing seats with 6 point harnesses by Teamtech.
7. New Brembo Monoblock racing brakes with 14 " slotted rotors and stainless steel lines.
8. Warkhawk 454 engine block with all forged components, Wilson manifold, World Product cylinder heads, Borla headers and exhaust and full dry sump system. Shooting to make 650 hp NA.
9. Tranny and Diff coolers.

Will post pictures as project comes together.

Tom... great project you have going on. Keep the updates coming! That is going to pull some nice times at the track you should connect with Tony over at AFR (you can find him by clicking on the AFR banner on the left or Tony Mamo under the NA forum here) He is building up a C5 NA engine for some time, tweeking it and rebuilding to maximize HP and TQ.

Looking forward to seeing more about your project!

Hows this build coming along? Thats an impressive parts list you have going into this thing! :D You may have mentioned already is this for track only or will street use be in the picture? If so, I would hate to pull up next you at a light!

Thanks for the support. The car will not be DOT approved/track only. Having a full cage, racing slicks and being severely lowered wouldn't work on the street.

The base 2002 Z06 is now completely stripped down to a pretty much bare frame and I'm waiting for the new Warhawk 454 cu in engine block to come in. The next step will be to start the engine build which will include all forged components. I will also be installing a full dry sump system, a Ron Davis radiator, APS fuel system.... I'm still debating what type of clutch to put in.

I have pulled out the OEM engine harness and will be going with a race designed engine management system, Motec or similar. The system will include GPS software to map track times and actually show the route I take on each lap to determine which line thru the course produces the fastest lap times. Pretty cool stuff. We are studying options for such.

Once we have the engine and drive train together we will move on to installing the cage, suspension upgrades, brakes, fire projection......

Will post additional info as I proceed!
