Video of two friends recently tearing it up at our home track (Autobahn, Joliet, Il). Mike is camera man (06 Z06, with brembos, moton coil over and Hoozer racing slicks), Jim, the lead car, is in a brandy spandy new GT3 with aggressive race alignment and corner balancing. Mike the more experienced driver of the two (both are scary fast) is lifting on the straights to avoid running into Jim.

The guy in the camera car is building a track only vette which will be ready in about 6 weeks. I will post some pics of his build. The car is wild. He's having Pratt & Miller, the builders of the C5R Leman's winner build a number of custom assemblies for the car and Katech the C5R's engine builder do the new engine and power train. The car will have 675 Nat Aspir Engine, a full Motec engine/race management system and a sequential trans. Considering he's one of the fastest guys out there with a stock Z06, it's scary to think what he will be like in this monster.

675 Nat Aspir??? is that at the wheel or engine? Impressive either way.

675 at the crank*, however I think we can easily make 625 at the wheels. As a track only car, the engine will have a Wilson race manifold, forged internals, patriot or similar cylinder heads, new cam(still deciding), racing headers, no emissions equip or mufflers. I plan to run on pump gas. Obviously if I upped the compression and ran on race gas I could get ridiculous, but the car stripped at 2,600 lbs will be a big handful and I won't need more power. That big block should pull like crazy down low.
*We will break the engine in on a engine dyno. Obviously, unlike a street car the engine can't be broken in under normal street conditions. It must be run for sufficient time prior to taking it out on a track. The car will not be DOT approved, will have racing slicks and obviously be loud as hell. So it won't ever see the street.
