MANCHESTER, N.H. -- A man stole a Corvette in Massachusetts and drove it to Manchester, where he stole a Hummer that he crashed during a chase on Monday, police said.
Police said Leonard Lunn, 43, of Pepperell, Mass., stole a Corvette from an Amesbury, Mass., dealership and drove it to a Manchester Hummer dealership. He asked to test drive a Hummer and drove off with one before an employee could accompany him, police said.
"As the dealership was making arrangements to have somebody accompany him on the test drive, the suspect left with the vehicle," Sgt. Maureen Tessier said. "Initially, they weren't overly alarmed by the situation, but as time went on, they determined that the car had been stolen."
Police said the Hummer was spotted in Phillipston, Mass., and after a pursuit, it crashed in Winchendon, Mass.
Lunn was seriously injured in the single-car crash and transported to a hospital for treatment.
