I have a 73 L48 that I got running perfect and I replaced the high pressure hose for the A/C and had it charged while I watched. The next morning I drove it and a couple of times it felt like it was going to stall out so I pumped the gas pedal and I kept it running.I thought It was a fuel problem but there is plenty fuel, I changed the cap and rotor, the coil, took the electronic pionts out and put the points and condenser back in,checking over and over vacum hoses and it seems like after it gets hot it will run good one minute and then bad the next. I changed the plugs and wires last year(2000 miles ago)but I am going to change them again I guess. Also at one point I did find next to the coil A noise supressor connected to the negative side and the wire was broken off the the supressor and maybe shorting out,I disconnected it but it changed nothing. Please Help.
I changed everything but the carb so I put the origional carb back on and she ran great, I don't know why these other 2 carbs they are both rebuilt and will not run right, they burn way to rich and I can't adjust them to run smooth with the idle adjustments(2) or the two air idle mixture screws(2), she ends up just burning to rich, Is there an internal adjustment, maybe the float to change that problem? Thanks for checking this out.
