I just found SmokinVette.com and I think it's great to have a place to go with questions besides the dealer. I have 2003 Anniversary Edition which is completely stock and pampered with 22k on it. I get pretty much constant squealing from the brakes and had 'em checked but the dealer says they're perfect and it's just the nature of the beast. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks in advance.

My god man!!! Grease em!!!!

LOL Just kidding, actually your dealer is more then likely 100% correct! A rare thing I admit!

The squealing you're experiencing is more then likely a slight wobble or vibration of the pads within the caliper. There are a few products you can use to minimize it. One is an insulator pad that fits between the back of the brake pad and the caliper pistons, I've used these before with excellent results. Another is a brush on product that does essentially the same thing, no experience with this one...

Welcome to the Forum!!!! Post some pics of your ride!!!!! We love pics!

You can try stop squeak sprayon the pads. I would personally buy some ceramic pads. You will have less brake dust on the wheels and they are so quiet during braking.

Yeah, I thought of the grease but was a bit concerned about how the brakes would perform! Actually I used to go to a Mercedes specialist who used some goopy silver stuff on an '87 300E I used to own (great car, had it for 12 years). Effective but messy.

Thanks for the suggestions and I'll get some pics up as soon as I figure out how...

some times brake dust will cause this problem tap on capiler to knock the dust off, or you could remove the pads and file a taper on the laeding edge of the pads hope this helps gerry QUOTE=njvette;2332]I just found SmokinVette.com and I think it's great to have a place to go with questions besides the dealer.
