I have replaced the rotors, pads (2 times), tried putting shims and these brakes will still make a squeeking noise! The dealer says that many 2005's have this problem and there is nothing you can do about it?? I'm not hearing every Corvette on the road with squeeky brakes so whats the deal here? Thank you

Good morning. We had similiar problem with our Silver '05. I put new rotors and pads on and still the brakes managed to squeek... what ended up working on stock system and reduced the brake dust was moving to ceramic pads.
What we have done so since that point is a big brake kit by AP Racing. If you haven't read our reviews click under C6 Product Reviews and you will see our write up and photos.
Best of luck to you!

I have the same issue with my '05 with the Z51 package, and the dealership tells me that GM is researching the issue. I have a Service Bulletin from August 2005, and another from March 2006 where they say we're resesarching it. One would expect that after two years of reseach this would be resolved.
Are there any lawyers out there interested in building a class action suit against GM? If so you can sign me up. This is a safety issue as drivers are using unsafe braking habits in a effort to prevent the brakes from squeaking. If you brake hard they don't squeak, but you are more likely to get in an accident. Not to mention that I don't expect my $50,000 to $60,000 car to have squeaky brakes.
Smokinvette, thanks for the big brake kit tip. What is the cost of making this modification? Do you think GM will accept the bill? :-)

I have an '05 as well that had the squeeky brakes, after reading another post here I put the ceramic pads on. Squeek is gone! I kept hearing the same stuff from dealer about bulletins and that they were researching. Gave up on that and thought I would try this.
