I considering having my car painted either black or dark grey. If done correctly if I ever do trade the car in for a newer Vette does this effect the resale or trade value? Thanks

In my experience, no it does not. It should enhance the value if your current paint is getting haggy...

It shouldn't effect the value as long as its painted correctly. Thats a big project changing the complete color of a car.

But then again you know how some people are too, some will say that it is not the original color, so it may deter some from buying or trading, just my two cents.

The better condition your vette is in the more trade in or resale you will get. Your best bet is to sell your car yourself as you will get more for it. As you know, paint jobs aren't cheap, you could well go over the $5,000 price especially if you are going with any graphics or specialized paint, so if you plan to keep your vette spend the money and make it look as nice as possible, but if you are thinking of trading it in soon, don't spend the money on the paint job because regardless of how nice your vette looks, the dealer is only going to give you a certain amount for trade in and trust me, it's usually an insult. Good luck and enjoy,
